GEOMEAN

Returns the geometric mean of the arguments.

Syntax:

GEOMEAN(number1; number2; ... number30)

number1 to number30 are up to 30 numbers or ranges containing numbers. Numbers must not be zero.
The geometric mean of a1, a2, ... an is defined as (a1 . a2. ... . an)1/n.

Example:

GEOMEAN(1; 2; 4)

returns 2, calculated as (1 * 2 * 4)1/3.

Issues:

  • Calc assumes that logical values are 1 (TRUE) and 0 (FALSE). Excel ignores logical values.
