在 Solaris 和 Linux 平台上，电子邮件客户端必须支持通过命令行中的命令在电子邮件中附加文档。在 Windows 中，电子邮件客户端必须支持消息传送应用程序接口 (Messaging Application Program Interface, MAPI)。

Apache OpenOffice 使用最常见的电子邮件客户端，其中包括：

1. 在 Apache OpenOffice Writer 中，选择工具 → 选项 → Internet → 电子邮件。
