IRC Log

<lizm> Hi everyone. Happy Monday!
<FrankL> It seems that we are alone here today :-)
<FrankL> I have only a small update. Let's try to keep it short today.
* clu_sun (n=cl114686@nat/sun/x-fiszblvhqkkvcwij) hat #ux.openoffice.org betreten
<lizm> oh here is Chris.
<clu_sun> yeah
<lizm> That makes three musketeers
<lizm> :-)
<clu_sun> now we need an enemy :)
<lizm> Sur go ahead Frank. Short is good.
<lizm> No enemies. We have other office suites ;-)
<FrankL> Update from the User Feedback Program: Data caching is up and running now. I have updated the data for Impress, Calc and Draw. Writer and all Apps data will take some extra time due to an new tooling issue.

* linuxtogo (n=linuxtog@dslb-094-220-249-095.pools.arcor-ip.net) hat #ux.openoffice.org betreten
<FrankL> This data will be fixed at least until the OOo Con. I will use this data for analysing our current Impress UI to get traceable results for the community.
<lizm> Thanks for the update. Excellent to have the data out there. I'm sure a lot of people will be curious about Renaissance at the OOoCon. How exciting! My update is that I finally got the blog about the prototype survey results out. Unfortunately no matter what we do, whether we post or don't post, answer questions or not answer questions, the angry/scared few make misleading comments and make...
<lizm> ...me want to waste my few hours of time a week trying to waylay their concerns and explain all the things that they are erroneously supposing. I am beginning to wonder if one or two of them are paid to for sabotage.
<FrankL> I am currently working on an updated roadmap for Project Renaissance. Hope to have by end of this week.
<lizm> OK. Good. We definitely need a new roadmap out there. What shocks me again and again is that some comments suggest that there is an army of Sun employees working on project Renaissance. They are obviously not in the know because there are, let's see, maybe three of us? It seems that the angry/scared few think we have lots of busy workers plotting to ruin their world.
<lizm> It is a compliment in a way, because we few people are capable of doing to much as to seem to be a huge mass. ;-)
<lizm> Or it is a compliment to our UX community, that we work so well as a community, that some people are mistaken for Sun employees.
<FrankL> We have to start our preparations for the OOo Con taking place in November. We will have two presentations and three workshops. Andreas Bartel, Christoph Noack and me will be there.
<lizm> That happened to Christoph Noack recently. He is just a dedicated volunteer, but like so many others on the UX project, he is integral to the process.
<lizm> I hope others from the UX project will be there too. I know there was a guy from Italy who popped up on the list once.
<FrankL> We will see :-)
<lizm> Jaron was hoping to go but has made other plans now. Though he is still willing to help with preparations/material.
<FrankL> OK
<lizm> Any other points for today?
<FrankL> No, that was all from my side for today.
<lizm> Will you, Frank, post the protocol from this chat or shall I?
<FrankL> I will, I have already prepared it.
<lizm> Great. Thank you!
<FrankL> Bye
<lizm> Bye
