Creating update information for extensions

For publishing information about an available update one needs to provide the "update information". For more specific information please read the specification "Online Update for Extensions". Some XML elements from the description.xml are also part of the update information (version, identifier, dependencies). To avoid maintaining a update information file, we provide a perl program that creates the file based on the description.xml. The program is contained in solenv/bin/make_ext_update_info.pl.
