We already talked about frames, their use and how to create them: each inserted picture, Math object, and OLE object is inside a frame with its own characteristics. As with almost everything in Writer, frames can be governed by styles. Regarding what was commented before, the frame styles do not offer big differences: clearly they lack the options to link two frames that cannot be administrated through styles and they have the Organizer tab to give the style a name and link it with another style.
Particularly notable with the frame styles is the impossibility to define the anchoring: as commented on the Issue 14008 - Allow anchor settings in frame styles (graphic-styles) this is not possible right now.
