I am a management consultant and have focused my career on improving procurement and supply chain practices for complex manufacturing companys. When I relocated here to Ecuador, I saw a tremendous case for open source software and have begun to focus on identifying open source solutions I could use as an alternative to costly commercial applications. I have begun to work with Compiere (an open source ERP/CRM solution provider), GlassFish (Sun Microsystem open source application server) and JasperSoft (Open Source business intelligence) and see working with OpenOffice as a natural evolution of my work.

My Vision for OpenOffice

I see OpenOffice as being the starting point for any organization considering open source solutions. I would like to lead the campaign for OpenOffice adoption here in Latin America and believe that will a little bit of elbow grease, we can make great strides in promoting OpenOffice as a viable alternative to other solutions.
