I've always opposed the staying with the OOo logo as it is "No Matter What". We need evolution in the look of the marketing elements as much as the software. However change for change sake is never a good thing.

For there to be a change with tptb we need to have a full relook at it.

The Icon is one thing but we need to put together a whole rebranding package. Just ranting on the list isn't going make a blind bit of difference.

Personally I like the "Icon Curve" because it fits with Icons, documents of all types, posters and so forth. A blue icon curve works on all sorts of things. Just check out Matthias' Presentations for the Orange StarOffice version.
