Using Fields

Fields allow the automatic insertion of text into the slide. Think of a field as a kind of formula that is calculated when the document is loaded or printed, and the result is written to the document. Fields are commonly used when creating templates and slide masters, as explained in Chapter 2. Examples of fields include: date/time, slide number, file name, and author.
