OpenOffice.org 2.0 Release

The preparations for the 2.0 Launch are tracked in the topic OOoRelease200.

Concerns for 2.0 release

This is just a loose collection of what people have raised in different forums for the 2.0 release. There is now not an agreement or resources available to fix them. Please no flames at this page !!!

• Bitstream Vera Serif without italic (fake italics and bold for display for regular-only fonts) (http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=18285 ); cws fakebold, target 2.0.2.

• CJK: Paragraph Style's Default settings ( http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=54320 ), target is 2.0.2 or 2.0.1

• external/common/*.jar: are they proprietary or not? ( http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=54320 ), ASAP, 2.0.2

• "position of floating toolbars should be remembered" ( http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=40258 ), this issue has been superseeded by "Toolbars appear in wrong place after undocking" ( http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=53179 ), fixed in 2.0.1

• "Users should have the option to have the cursor position remembered when opening a document." (http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=43146). related to this is "Implement a shortcut to jump to the saved cursor position" (http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=39486), -> has been integrated for 2.0.

• "Bullet symbols on some systems not displayed in OpenSymbol font" ( http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=45163 ), fixed for 2.0 but Win98 still a problem ( http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=47009 )

Issues and Decisions

• Not possible to drag and drop graphics from theme created under 1.x (http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=48062).

• Plugin objects & applets don't play in Slide Show mode (http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49357)
