Spreadsheets, Sheets, and Cells
Calc works with entities called spreadsheets. Spreadsheets are not necessarily stand-alone and can be composed of multiple individual sheets, each sheet containing cells organized in rows and columns. A specific cell is identified by its row number and column letter – for instance, D7 for row 7, column D, as in the illustration below.
Cells hold data, including text, numbers, formulas, and so on, that make up what will be displayed and manipulated. A spreadsheet can have many sheets, each with many individual cells. Each sheet can have a maximum of 1,048,576 rows and a maximum of 1024 columns.
