  • J2SE 5 (AKA JDK 1.5) seems to be the most appropriate baseline for odf4j

Topics

  • LB: AODL good progress, Oleg implements a lot of stuff. It was a good idea having two people doing the same task, they work together very good.
  • LO: Progress on ODF4J see protocol from IRC meeting today.

Comparing ODF4J and AODL, there is one interesting difference: In both implementations the objects know the XML nodes, but AODL created the full graph when loading the documents, while ODF4J does it on demand. So ODF4J could reflect changes done on the DOM directly w/o using AODL API, but could also get in trouble when someone does bigger structural changes this way. So both rely on the contract that only the API is used for any manipulations.

  • JSC: Hoping to find someone to mentor soon. Still busy with dev guide, will do more ODFT work after that.
  • MT: Gave concrete tasks to LiuTao
