(14:58:24) ja_: Hi everyone!
(14:58:33) MechtiIde: hello
(14:58:35) Andreas_SunOOoUX: Hi!
(15:00:09) mdamboldt: Hi
(15:00:25) paveljanik: Moin
(15:00:49) kai_a [n=Kai_Ahre@nat/sun/x-f97b2b9731a6bd7c] hat den Raum betreten.
(15:01:11) of_sun [n=chatzill@nat/sun/x-a74db8f29a99153d] hat den Raum betreten.
(15:01:38) mdamboldt: Let's start todays meeting with OOo 3.1.1 release.
(15:01:39) mdamboldt: Any critical path issue/cws's we need to review in todays meeting?
(15:01:48) blauwal [n=jr93709@nat/sun/x-7c8b5c8f4dbb1198] hat den Raum betreten.
(15:02:20) Stefan___b_away heißt jetzt Stefan___b
(15:02:37) Stefan___b: Hi!
(15:03:00) UweL [n=chatzill@nat/sun/x-cc3640a9e7f44cf2] hat den Raum betreten.
(15:05:17) mdamboldt: Ok, than I like to pickup last weeks items again related to L10N CWSs builds.
(15:05:40) ***_rene_ just reopened issue 102004
(15:06:10) _rene_: and /methiniks I can't ble blamed for mru not being able to read the linked Debian bug which clearly is about wrong_lands_table.doc initially
(15:06:25) mdamboldt: It seems that in the past there was simply no demand, or at least not noted demand for Mac or Linux 64 Bit builds. If there is one now, we like to know which languages and would put those on the list for next time.
(15:07:17) _rene_: there was no demand for lInux 64? you are kidding?
(15:07:27) _rene_: where have you been? on the moon?
(15:07:29) MechtiIde: mdamboldt, for DE we have tester as for Mac as for Linux 64
(15:07:58) _rene_: that you just provided builds and didn't do anyrthing on it is at least a progress
(15:08:07) _rene_: but demand is there and even was in 2.0.x(!) times
(15:08:18) MechtiIde: and FYi the debs didn#t have an installer, so there is no whole package needed
(15:08:37) _rene_: that you don't use pure 64bit systems on your desktop does not mean that people out there don't. for years already.
(15:09:51) MechtiIde: mdamboldt, and as already dicussed, under Linux you general need a 64 bit OpenOffice.org on a 64 bit OS
(15:10:12) MechtiIde: not the way you can do under Win
(15:10:19) MechtiIde: *generally
(15:10:39) mdamboldt: Mechtilde: So you ask for all languages on Linux 64 Bit to be available in L10N CWSs?
(15:11:13) MechtiIde: first I ask it for DE
(15:11:15) rtimm: _rene_: you know that we are talking about L10N CWSs builds only, aren't you?
(15:11:45) MechtiIde: I'm speaking for the Germanophone QA-Team
(15:11:54) _rene_: rtimm: yes, and how does that matter?
(15:11:58) mdamboldt: Mechtilde: Regarding debs, thats why you asked to have .tar.gz instead of rpm and debs?
(15:12:12) _rene_: rtimm: you want testers who do use 64-bit Linuxses get out of the testing? :)
(15:12:23) MechtiIde: there was a dissusion and an annoucement therrefore
(15:12:33) MechtiIde: to save resources
(15:12:44) _rene_: rtimm: (besides that, sorrry, I overread the first line)
(15:12:58) mdamboldt: Mechtilde: To save ressources during QA or during creation of such?
(15:13:20) MechtiIde: and if these are problems to test the Installer then we can get langpacks for DEBs
(15:13:39) MechtiIde: creating and upload of builds
(15:13:49) MechtiIde: and server space
(15:14:23) MechtiIde: so for debs wie can get 32 builds and 64 buildas with lesser resources
(15:14:54) mdamboldt: Mechtilde: Language Packs is a different topic. A couple of people have told me that full installation sets were requested in the past explicitly. Now we read the opposit. Thats a little confusing. Or is the request to have full installation sets and languages packs too?
(15:15:24) MechtiIde: full installsets for testing the installer?
(15:15:53) MechtiIde: so I read it last meeting
(15:16:07) MechtiIde: and DEBs don't have an installer
(15:16:28) MechtiIde: which need a translating testing
(15:16:29) mdamboldt: Ok, undestood the deb / installer part.
(15:16:50) MechtiIde: That was my understanding in the past
(15:17:39) mdamboldt: So in the future we provide only English full installation sets and language packs for other Languages.
(15:17:59) MechtiIde: for DEbs it is ok
(15:18:00) mdamboldt: For Mac we would need to continue with full installation sets since there are no langpacks at all.
(15:18:53) MechtiIde: for Win and for RPMs it depends on the need of testing the installer translations
(15:19:29) MechtiIde: therefore I have no feedback
(15:19:29) rtimm: MechtiIde: I'd prefer to handle DEBs and RPMs equally
(15:19:53) mdamboldt: Mechtilde: I would love to have a generic procedure for providing installation sets at not a one depending on specific bugfixes in the release.
(15:21:22) rtimm: MechtiIde: At the moment it is just one 'build' which creates DEBs and RPMs. Splitting this into two runs with different settings will cause more effort and possibilities to do mistakes or forget something.
(15:21:32) MechtiIde: I hope I have more information when i arrive at Hamburg
(15:22:16) _rene_: can we please discuss about important reagressions and *then* languagepacks, please?
(15:24:25) mdamboldt: So we are at the 3.2 time line.
(15:24:29) ja_: mdamboldt: Ivo uploaded full sets for 26 languages for linux rpm + deb, solarisx86 and windows. This consumed 17 GB memory on the cws-upload area. Using archive builds or language packs do not allow to test installer localization related things. Mechtilde is right. We need at least one platform where localizations can be tested within a full build.
(15:26:59) mdamboldt: Nothing else to raise today?
(15:27:41) MechtiIde: important reagressions ? _rene_
(15:27:41) _rene_: eh, what?!
(15:27:58) ***_rene_ shrugs
(15:28:39) _rene_: ok, when you'll leave RTL users in the cold....
(15:29:03) Stefan___b: Facts?
(15:29:08) Stefan___b: IDs?
(15:29:20) _rene_: if you would have read so would have seen
(15:29:24) _rene_: s/so/you/
(15:29:42) _rene_: I wrote it 3 minutes after your joined
(15:30:16) _rene_: but here it is:
(15:30:16) Stefan___b: No. I joined 14:39
(15:30:16) _rene_: 15:05 * _rene_ just reopened issue 102004
(15:30:17) _rene_: 15:06 < _rene_> and /methiniks I can't ble blamed for mru not being able to read the linked Debian bug which clearly is about wrong_lands_table.doc initially
(15:30:28) Stefan___b: That one is adressed and will be proceeded.
(15:30:41) Stefan___b: WITHOUT rene having to re-wrtite what is already clear.
(15:30:50) _rene_: Stefan___b: not accrdoing to mru...
(15:30:57) Stefan___b: Just spoke with MRU.
(15:31:01) Stefan___b: Next subject?
(15:31:04) _rene_: Stefan___b: and ok, 3 minutes after you said "Hi!"
(15:31:05) _rene_: Stefan___b: ok
(15:31:19) Stefan___b: Ok, nitpicking or meeting?
(15:31:36) _rene_: trying to get bugs fixed important for our users asap :)
(15:31:48) Stefan___b: ou users. got it.
(15:31:50) _rene_: but yes, if it gets fixed in 3.1.1 in am happy :)
(15:32:09) _rene_: Stefan___b: not ony my users, RTL users.
(15:32:27) Stefan___b: Many users.
(15:32:32) _rene_: yep
(15:32:52) Stefan___b: 2 can be many it rene is among them :-)
(15:33:06) ***_rene_ is not, I am german, I don't need RTL :)
(15:33:13) Stefan___b: Anything else?
(15:33:15) _rene_: but our israeli fellows do :-)
(15:34:50) Stefan___b: Anything else?
(15:35:30) mdamboldt: ja_: So the big question is which platform to choose to proivde full installation sets. Would it be Windows because of the download numbers in general? Or any other platform which is more QA relevant? I will follow-up on this with you especially in point of view to available storage.
(15:35:54) mdamboldt: I've nothing else for today.
(15:36:17) MechtiIde: I hope I have more information when i arrive at Hamburg, mdamboldt
(15:37:36) mdamboldt: ok
(15:37:37) mdamboldt: bye
(15:39:21) SimonAW [n=simonaw@p5B113D93.dip.t-dialin.net] hat den Raum betreten.
