Xmlpp

The XML pretty printer (xmlpp) is a Perl utility to process XML streams and reformat them to your needs, e.g. split the 2 long lines of a document's content.xml into separated lines, one line for each element, for easier analyzing.

Download it from DecisionSoft, there's also a xmldiff utility.
