What is the Wiki Improvement Effort?

In order to make more efficient use of the OOo wiki and to make it so that users gladly go to the wiki to find information they need, the desire arose to try to improve the OOo wiki. As it was unclear exactly what needed to be improved, a survey was developed by User Experience and sent out to the community.

Wiki Usage Survey

The survey was kept short in order to make it quick and easy to fill out in hopes of getting a large number of responses. Only about half of the questions were mandatory. All text boxes where comments could be added were optional.Several questions were conditional and only revealed when a particular answer was given in the previous question.

The survey contained the following questions:

In general, how satisfied are you with the experience of writing something on the OOo wiki?: Very satisfied/Satisfied/Works for me/Dissatisfied/Very dissatisfied

Measuring Improvement

In order to measure the success of any improvements, the survey can be sent out again after many changes have been made to the OOo wiki. The results of the initial survey can then be compared to the later results. Statistics (page visits) could also be used to check for better results and acceptance of certain wiki pages.
