User Claire:

The procedure you are using, in your translating, is damaging the original (English) versions of the pages.

The proper way to translate a page is:

  • Create a new page for the translated version.
  • Copy the existing page contents to the new page.
  • Then edit and translate as you see fit, on the new page.

If you need help with any of this, you may ask by writing on this page (I will be notified of this). I or others will be glad to help with your useful and important work.

In order to undo the damage, it is necessary to (1)create new pages for the pages you have translated, (2)copy your work to the new pages, and (3)restore (roll back) the English versions. You should do (1) and (2) for each page, for practice. I will do Step (3) for you, when you are ready. Please do this as soon as you can.

When you get to the point of changing the Table of Contents for your new pages, there are some technical details for which we can help you, and you can help us! You can see some of them at this link: Template:Documentation/TOC/TOC_en. Again, you can get help by writing on this Talk page.

Best wishes, --TJ 06:40, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
