Standard Operating Procedures

Objective

The objective of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is to improve the quality of OOo through implementing a standardised way of performing various common tasks.

What are SOPs?
  • part of a quality system
  • detailed written instructions
  • to be followed by everyone
How do they work?
  • define clearly how to perform a task
  • standardize the common work flow
  • establish clear responsibilities
  • make the pathway transparent
  • ensure proper control and record keeping

Categories

The SOPs are grouped into various categories. The 3 main categories include:

  • documentation and information
  • programming
  • and project-specific
