Gorkem Cetin has been a renowned open source evangelist, training manager and university instructor for more than 10 years. He studied Mathematics in <a href=http://www.metu.edu.tr>Middle East Technical University</a> and completed computer science degree in <a href=http://www.bahcesehir.edu.tr>University of Bahcesehir</a>. His current doctorate studies focus on human computer interaction issues of open source software. He has been working with Internet since 1992 and PCs since the early Sinclair in 1985. Mr Cetin has authored <a href=http://www.gorkemcetin.com/content/view/12/36/lang,en/>4 books on Linux</a> and has written numerous articles for technical and sector magazines. He has spoken at various conferences within the Linux, open source and IT industry. Today he continues to work in <a href=http://www.uekae.tubitak.gov.tr>TUBITAK/UEKAE</a> (national cryptography and technology institute of Turkey) and works as coordinators and co-coordinators of <a href=http://www.gorkemcetin.com/content/view/43/38/lang,en/>two EU FP6 projects</a>, as well as <a href=http://www.pardus.org.tr>Pardus</a>, noted as "National operating system of Turkey" as an analyst, designer and QA manager. Cetin has co-founded many organizations and public institutes, <a href=http://www.linux.org.tr>Linux Users Group of Turkey</a>, Turkish OpenOffice.org organization, GNOME Turkey and KDE Turkey to name a few.
