I was looking at this page to become more familiar with the procedures here and how the development of content progresses.

Two questions came to mind.

  • First, is it important to engage in progressive disclosure better? I was thinking of this because of the discussion of borders and also the introduction of the Web View on this page. I am thinking about newcomers to this documentation that do not have much technology-oriented knowledge. It would be useful for the more experienced to be able to deep dive, and for people who visit looking for more details to find them, without creating a situation where visitors may be unsettled by the terminology and concepts that are unknown to them. Has there been much thought to this?
  • Secondly, I am puzzled by the use of "borders" for the framing that happens in the UI presentation of the document material. Since there are actual, drawn borders that can be introduced and shown, it would be good to use a different term for the all of the frames that delimit structural features of the document that are not part of the presentation of the document on a printer, in a PDF, etc. I would also not say too much about frames at the top level, but perhaps a cross-reference would be useful later.
