Please Update
The instructions don't work in OpenOffice 3.3.0. When I create the formula (=page-1) and click the green checkmark (to insert the formula into my text, nothing appears at the cursor position. When I press F2 at that position, the formula field is blank (as if there were no formula).
Please update the help information on how to reset/restart the Page Count! This is critical for all cases where the user uses the Page Count in a document that has pages that should not be counted (e.g. TOC, cover page). signature added by sysop PeterLairo
- WORKSFORME: Following the exact steps you describe (not exactly what the FAQ recommends), I see a field with the proper value (total pages minus one). This question belongs in a User Forum, where you have a much better chance to get a good answer. --TJ (Talk | Contribs) 13:59, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
