On the section regarding why parts of OpenOffice cannot be downloaded individually, I always thought that the term "suite" when referring to software referred to a group of applications that functioned similarly but still were independent components. The definition given here seems to match more of Microsoft Works or other integrated applications.

I admit that the definition of "suite" given here is a bit misunderstanding: A suite is one application with several different faces. Most of these faces use the same set of libraries. The first sentence is to be taken figuratively. Most OOo components use the same set of libraries but still OOo appears as a set of separate applications working in a similar way.
