platform-independant build stuff
We need:
- a chapter for platform-independant build basics (
build --from --prepare
etc.). - a chapter for platform-independant Tips and Tricks (for stuff currently in Building_OpenOffice.org#Tips and Tricks etc.).
Development/OpenOffice.org Building Guide/Building on Linux already contains too much platform-independant info.
help us develop this guide
Asking users to join the dev mailing list is too much hassle IMHO. We should motivate users to user the dicussion pages instead.
new pages and the TOC
The Table Of Contents and the [[category]] markers are included from the Template Template:Documentation/Building_Guide_TOC. Edit the Template same way as you would any other page.
To add a new page to the Building Guide:
- Click on the above link, and edit that page. Add the link to your new page, wherever it belongs in the bullet list.
- If your new page already exists, check in Preview that the link works.
- If your new page does not exist, save the TOC page, then click on the redlink to create the new page.
- Add the following line to add the TOC and categories to your page:
- {{Documentation/Building Guide TOC|ShowNextPage=none|ShowPrevPage=none}}
- {{Documentation/Building Guide TOC|ShowNextPage=none|ShowPrevPage=none}}
