ReleaseStatus Minutes

The various functional groups of OpenOffice (QA, Development, User Exp., Documentation, Release Engineering, Marketing, Localization, etc.) are represented here. On every Monday 3pm German time (see here to convert to other time zones) this meeting will track the status and the detailed schedule of deliveries fot the upcoming releases.

The members of this meeting review critical issues and deliverables for the releases and agree on the appropriate handling of those issues. They coordinate the actual release schedule.

  • We are just in progress to finish the OOO330m9 milestone. The upload should be available tomorrow.
  • Please note that we are just a small step away from the first 3.3 Release Candidate build.
  • The next important date is the L10N bug fixes delivery deadline on 30th September.
  • Right in the week after that (end of calendar week 40), we will go into RC mode.
  • A couple of stoppers have been nominated via mailing list. Some of them have already been accepted, others are under evaluation.

  • Mechtilde wanted to have an issue nominated as stopper (she'll write the issue soon and she will put Martin Damboldt to CC list)

  • new l10n CWS builds have been provided
  • The build of an OOO330m8 is scheduled to start early / mid of this week.
  • Issue 87596 has been removed from the 3.3 stopper list because the risk and effort for this issue is too high to be fixed within 3.3 timeframe
  • All in all there is still a significant number of CWS / Issues with target 3.3. These should be reviewed if there are candidates which are not "a must" for 3.3 and the others should be worked on asap.
  • Please keep in mind that the 30th September 2010 is the last L10N bug fix delivery deadline. Very soon after this we are going into Release Candidate phase and the first of such will be done.

  • Milestone OOO330m6 has become ready last week
  • Several further show stoppers have been raised and accepted for the 3.3 release
  • Binaries for L10N TCM testing have been provided.
  • This L10N TCM test cycle goes from 26th August till 2nd September 2010.
  • So be prepared to find latest L10N in the next milestones after that date.
  • The absolutely last L10N date for the 3.3 release is 30th September. That's the "last L10N bug fixes delivery deadline".
  • René asked about issue 114075. Martin answered that the status is not correct. He will ping Mikhail regarding the issue because the image Stella provided is already available.
  • The 3.3 schedule has been updated to reflect the L10N delivery deadline
  • The next OOO330m7 will be scheduled to start earliest end of this week to meet the L10N TCM cycle end.

  • 2010-07-29 is the end of l10n TCM testing
  • When l10n TCM testing is done and corresponding CWS is ready we can start Beta 1 build (in case no further Beta stopper issues are being raised in the meantime)
  • Martin Damboldt expects Beta 1 to be available next week
  • Martin Damboldt will update the release schedule for 3.3 in OOo wiki
  • Petr Mladek asked about an estimation when RC1 will be expected. René answered he expects rather more than four weeks after Beta 1

  • Mechtilde asked if CWS dba33g will be integrated within the next build. Estimated due date doesn't allow this
  • Pavel Janik mentioned readlicense_oo build failures (OOOO330m1) that need to be solved. The m1 requires a DTD to be installed locally otherwise the build fails, he said. Pavel doesn't have more details. He will file an issue as soon as he has his machine ready. Jens-Heiner Rechtien want's to have a look at it. René provided an IRC log about the discussion about this. René mentioned Issue 113227
