Press Release - for immediate release

OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 is ready now for download; it continues the trend initiated with 2.0 last year in making the application more suited for individuals, governments, and enterprises: Secure, interoperable, and flexible.

What's new in 2.0.3? For starters, Calc is 23 percent faster, and the overall application is noticeably quicker. Compatibility with Microsoft Office file formats has been further enhanced. Users familiar with MS Office will find OpenOffice.org even friendlier. But where MS Office cannot save to the ISO open standard OpenDocument Format, OpenOffice.org can. Files can be fluidly exchanged among users of Windows sporting MS Office of OpenOfffice.org, Intel Macintoshes (and PPC), Solaris, Linux, and many other platforms and languages with barely a ripple in the productivity stream.

But our best new feature is that after this release, users who have downloaded OpenOffice.org from the Project site may receive updated files. They won't need to download the entire application.

Download the application now from our volunteer servers. If you find the pages too busy, consider using our legal peer-to-peer (P2P) system or buying a CDROM.
