This paragraph has the style "Horizontal Line", with a line as the lower border of the paragraph. You can edit that Paragraph Style to change the properties of all "Plain" rulers in your document. For example you can set the left margin to 3 inches, or you can change the line style, thickness, and color.

1.Choose Format - Styles and Formatting to open the Styles and Formatting window.

2.In the listbox at the bottom, select to display "All Styles".

That means for Cartesian coordinate systems that the x-axis shows the lower values on the left and the y-axis shows the lower values at the bottom. For polar coordinate systems the mathematical angle axis direction is counterclockwise and the radial axis is from inner to outer.
