نکته قابل استفاده برای کاربران: اگر دیکشنری مورد نظر را اشتباها نصب کرده باشید و گزینه غلط یابی املایی و یا سایر ویژگی های مورد نظر پشتیبانی نشود شما هیچ پیغام خطایی را دریافت نخواهید کرد. در بهترین حالت شما می توانید یک واژه بی معنی را تایپ کرده و ببینید که آیا سیستم به شما اخطار داده و آنرا به صورت اتوماتیک غلط یابی می کند یا خیر.( دیکشنری های مورد نظر را از مکانسیم های توزیعی که در زیر توضیح داده شده است دانلود کنید نه از وبسایت های لیست شده در قسمت راهنما). و تنظیمات آنرا در پنجره های گفتگو آنقدر تغییر دهید تا برنامه به درستی کار کند(متاسفانه نمی توانیم با اطمینان بگوییم که کدام پنجره. چرا که چندین زبان مختلف در پنجره گفتگوها وجود دارد) البته برای خود من این روش موثر واقع نشد اما اگر شما به تنظیمات زبان های اصلی ( از قبیل انگلیسی بریتانیایی) دسترسی داشته باشید شاید خیلی دچار دردسر نشوید.

در فدورا برای نصب اپن شما می توانید از برنامه کاربردی "Add/Remove Software"  استفاده کنید و یا این کار را با خط فرمان  "yum install openoffice.org-writer".  انجام دهید. زبان های پشتیبان بعدی را می توانید با خط فرمانی شبیه "yum install openoffice.org-langpack-fr"  نصب کنید . مثلا با نصب زبان پشتیبانی کننده ی فرانسه از سیستم پشتیبانی غلط یابی املایی به صورت اتوماتیک بهره مند خواهید شد. برای مشاهده ی لیست زبان های نصب شده و مجموعه زبان های قابل نصب می توانید از خط فرمان "yum list openoffice.org-langpack" استفاده کنید. سایر دیکشنری ها را نیز به صورت جداگانه با استفاده از خط فرمان" yum install hunspell-fr "نصب کنید.

One user notes: If you have the "wrong" dictionary installed and spell check and other features cannot be supported, you will not receive any warning or notification. At best you can type some gibberish and see if it is underlined, if auto-correct is enabled. Download dictionaries (from the new extensions mechanisms detailed below, not the Web site listed in the help), and change settings in the various dialogues (sorry, not sure which one, there are several language related dialogues) until things work again. However, this didn't work for me but if you have the settings of the majority (eg US English) maybe you won't have to bother.

Documentation caution.png نکته مهم: درقسمت OpenOffice.org 3.0 نرم افزار نصب دیکشنری ها در دسترس نمی باشند و شما می توانید تمام دیکشنری های جدید را در قسمت the Extensions Repositoryمشاهده کنید. .

برای آگاهی از نحوه ی ایجاد پسوند فایل دیکشنری به قسمت Extension Dictionaries مراجعه کنید. لینک مذکور فقط برای کاربرانی که از OpenOffice.org < 3.استفاده می کنند قابل استفاده است . اگرچه این لینک هنوز هم نقش کمک کننده ای در پکیجرهای توزیع لینوکس در جمع آوری پسوندهای زبانی جدا دارد. În cazul în care se dorește compatibilitatea cu utilizatorii care folosesc platforme cu suport incomplet pentru limba română (precum Windows XP), se recomandă folosirea dicționarelor împreună cu extensia Diacritice românești. Această extensie permite introducerea caracterelor diacritice românești și conversia textului dintr-un format de caractere în altul. Suport pentru autocorectare este de asemenea disponibil.
