IMSQRT

Returns the square root of a complex number.

This function is only available if the Analysis AddIn is installed.

Syntax:

IMSQRT(complexnumber)

complexnumber is text representing a complex number, for example as a+bi or a+bj.

IMSQRT returns the square root of complexnumber as text. That is, if complexnumber is a₀+b₀i, it returns a₁+b₁i, such that (a₁+b₁i) * (a₁+b₁i) = a₀+b₀i.

Example:

IMSQRT("16+30i")

returns 5+3i as text.
