FINV

Calculates the inverse of the FDIST function.

Syntax:

FINV(p; r1; r2)

returns the value x, such that FDIST(x; r1; r2) is p.
Parameters r1 and r2 (degrees of freedom) are positive integers.
p must be greater than 0 and less than or equal to 1.

Example:

FINV(0.485657; 4; 5)

returns approximately 1.

Issues:

  • The forthcoming international standard ODFF calls this function LEGACY.FINV, and defines a new FINV function.
