How do I turn off number recognition in tables?

I want the number or date to be displayed in a certain way in a table, but Apache OpenOffice automatically changes to another format. How do I stop it?

If you type 03.29.2011 in a table, Apache OpenOffice will display 03/29/11 instead. If you type 03292011, Apache OpenOffice will omit the leading zero.

In order to cancel the number recognition function, follow the steps below:

  • Go to Tools → Options.
  • Choose OpenOffice Writer.
  • Click Table.
  • Click and cancel the Number recognition box.
