How do I turn off automatic word completion?

Open a text document.
From the pulldown menus, select Tools > AutoCorrect Options.
Select the Word Completion tab.
Deselect the check box to the left of "Enable word completion".
Click OK.

ALTERNATIVE METHOD:

For OpenOffice.org 3.2 and 3.3, open a text document.
From the pulldown menus, select Format > AutoCorrect > AutoCorrect Options.
Select the Word Completion tab.
Deselect the check box to the left of "Enable word completion".
Click OK.
