A number of files and installation sets are required before beginning with the OpenOffice.org API.

Required Files

These files are required for any of the languages you use.

OpenOffice.org Installation

Install a copy of OpenOffice.org. The current version is OpenOffice.org 2.0.

You can download OpenOffice.org from www.openoffice.org. StarOffice can be obtained from Sun Microsystems or through your distributors.

Note: This book focuses on the current version.

API Reference

The OpenOffice.org API reference is part of the Software Development Kit and provides detailed information about OpenOffice.org objects. The latest version can be found always online on api.openoffice.org.
