Following these steps is essential to understand and use the chapters about OpenOffice.org documents such as Text Documents, Spreadsheet Documents, Drawing Documents and Presentation Documents. After you have successfully done the first steps, you can go directly to the other chapters of this manual. The focus of the first steps will be Java, but other languages are covered as well.
