Quick ways to insert lines and tables in documents

In documents, you can insert lines and tables quickly by just typing several characters or symbols.

  • To insert lines, you have the following options:
    1. Type hyphen - three times and then press Enter to insert a line like below:
      D hyphen line.jpg
    2. Type underscore three times and then press Enter to insert a line like below:
      D underscore line.jpg
    3. Type asterisk *three times and then press Enter to insert a line like below:
      D Asterisk line.jpg
    4. Type equal sign = three times and then press Enter to insert a line like below:
      D equal sign line.jpg
    5. Type pound sign # three times and then press Enter to insert a line like below:
      D pound sign line.jpg
    6. Type Tilde ~ three times and then press Enter to insert a line like below:
      D Tilde line.jpg
  • To insert a table, type at least two plus signs or vertical bars:
    1. Type two plus signs ++ and then press Enter to insert a table like this: D two plus sign.jpg
    2. Type three plus signs +++ and then press Enter to insert a table like this: D three plus sign.jpg
    3. Type four plus signs ++++ and then press Enter to insert a table like this: D four plus sign.jpg
    4. Type two vertical bars || and then press Enter to insert a table like this: D two vertical bar.jpg
    5. Type three vertical bars ||| and then press Enter to insert a table like this: D three vertical bar.jpg
    6. Type four vertical bars |||| and then press Enter to insert a table like this: D four vertical bar.jpg
