Generating of the update feed

Since OOo 2.3 the click to 'Updates' in the OOo Extension manager calls an URL: http://updateext.services.openoffice.org/ProductUpdateService/check.Update

What goes into the feed?

  • Extension needs to be published
  • Extension release needs to be published
  • The uploaded file has to be an '.oxt'
  • It has to contain a description.xml file
    • which has to have
      • identifier
      • version in Format a.b.c
  • The latest, with highest version number, extension release is used.
