Importing Raster and Vector Graphics

To import stored graphics files, choose Insert → Picture → From File on the menu bar or click the [[Image:]] icon on the Draw toolbar. Draw possesses import filters for many different vector and raster graphics formats. If your file has a nonstandard extension, you must choose the format explicitly when importing it.

If you select the Preview option in the Insert picture dialog (Figure 120), Draw shows a preview of the picture in the box on the right-hand side. This makes it much easier to choose the picture you want and to see whether Draw can import a file of this format.
